2 Event Ready Hairstyles.

From weddings to graduations, as soon as the weather begins to warm up, our calendars tend to fill up at lightening speeds. While we’re often quick to plan outfits for upcoming events, you can’t forget about your beauty routine to go along with them! To help you prep and primp for any upcoming events, I’m sharing two hairstyle ideas that will make you look and feel like a million bucks.
First up, my trusty favorite: simple beachy waves.
Starting with towel-dried hair, work a handful of Nexxus Mousse + Volumizing Foam into your hair – this product is amazing for boosting volume without feeling sticky or crunchy (a rarity for mousse!) and it’s also an awesome frizz fighter. Since my hair is naturally curly, I always like to start any curly hairstyle with a little extra prep to make sure my curls hold when I smooth them out with the curling wand.
Let hair either air-dry or give it a quick blow dry with a diffuser, then use a 1” curling wand to curl small sections of hair at a time. Once hair has been curled, comb fingers through hair to loosen up curls and use a flat iron to straighten the ends.
Finish the look and set your curls with a solid spray of Nexxus Maxximum Hold Finishing Mist Hairspray (it’s my secret for holding curls all day and fighting the dreaded summer humidity!). Twist back a front section of hair and secure with two bobby pins in an X to keep hair out of your face or, in my case, to hide overgrown bangs.
As much as I love my curls, sometimes it just feels so good to have my hair up off of my neck (especially once summer wedding season rolls around!). For an easy up-do, all you need is the help of a few braids:
To give hair some texture and help your braids hold, begin by working a small amount of Nexxus Exxtra Defining Gel into dry hair. Start with your center part and divide hair into two sections – braid each section at a slight angle (left side toward right shoulder, and vice versa). Keep braids loose and finish off with a clear Goody hair tie.
Using bobby pins, cross braids over in the back and pin up the ends of each braid. Finish the look by pulling out a few pieces and loosening up braids to keep the look a little bit messy – lock any flyaways in place with a quick spray of Nexxus Maxximum Hold Finishing Mist Hairspray and you’re all set!
