REDBOOK Beauty Box.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a thing for beauty products. During my awkward pre-teen years I would sneak into my mom’s bathroom to use her Biosilk in an (unsuccessful) attempt to smooth out the quite curly, not quite straight I was plagued with. In 8th grade I discovered the flat iron and would wake up an extra hour early for school most days to fry my hair into submission one one-inch section at a time. For my junior prom my mom took me to the Clinique counter at the mall to get some makeup tips from the pros and I left the store feeling like I had hit the jackpot with my bag full of items that would become my brand new beauty routine.

These days blogging keeps my beauty addiction more than satisfied thanks to a constant rotation of packages full of new products to test and review. It’s basically the adult version of Christmas morning! When REDBOOK asked me to check out their fall beauty box, I couldn’t say yes fast enough. A peek at what was inside:

  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish: Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure line will forever be one of my top nail polish picks – the colors are creamy and vibrant and the unique rounded brush makes it easy to pull of a perfect manicure right at home. I love packing these polishes for travel because they pack every step of a great manicure all into one bottle – no base coat or nail treatment necessary!
  • Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant: Meet your gym bag’s best friend (which is where mine was instead of being in the photos… whoops!). Secret has forever been the only brand of deodorant I trust and the brand’s Clinical Strength line provides 4x stress sweat protection which makes it perfect for the girl on-the-go.
  • Sally Hansen Gel Shine Topcoat: I’m someone who loves the shine of a gel manicure but I don’t necessarily want to deal with the UV light and soak-off process on a regular basis, which makes Sally Hansen’s Gel Shine Topcoat a perfect solution. This topcoat dries quickly and leaves any nail color looking ultra shiny while helping fight chips to make your manicure last.
  • Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant: While I love the extra clean that a toner can add to my skincare routine, I’ve found many to be drying or harsh – I’ll admit I was skeptical of this option from Paula’s Choice because it promises to pretty much do it all: fight wrinkles, unclog pores and even skintone. I was pleasantly surprised to find the toner is able to do all of the above, without being harsh or drying on your face. Win!
  • Vaseline Intensive Care Healing Serum: Winter weather can be seriously rough on my skin and Vaseline’s Intensive Care Healing Serum sinks in deep to not only deliver much-needed moisture, but also heal and soothe dry skin. It’s thick without being greasy with a light scent that’s not overpowering.
