When it comes to my hair, I tend to keep things pretty simple and lean on my natural curls for an easy, everyday style but sometimes it’s fun to mix things up. Unfortunately I’m not a pro when it comes to hairstyles and I seemed to miss out on my mom’s braiding skills (no matter how many YouTube videos I watch… I just can’t do it!) so my go to trick has been to add a little twist to things. It looks polished and pulls your hair back out of your face but best of all, it’s incredibly simple and can be done on the fly. Consider the twist your secret weapon for going from the office to an after work event or for those times when you’re playing hostess and have minimal time to get yourself ready after all of the final preparations are complete.

Fuss-free hair starts with a little prepping – some essential steps before we start to style:

What you do in the shower matters! Start with Suave Professionals Natural Infusion Macadamia Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner to moisturize your hair and make sure it dries soft and smooth. If your hair is feeling a little dry or you’re prone to frizz, leave your conditioner in for a few minutes before rinsing to let your locks soak up as much moisture as possible (I usually start with shampoo and conditioner right in the beginning of my shower so there’s extra time to leave the conditioner in – just don’t forget to rinse!)

Towel dry hair and rub in a dime-sized amount of Suave Professionals Sleek Anti-Frizz Cream and a few spritzes of Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil – if possible, let hair air dry to save yourself some time and multi-task away while your hair is drying. If you need a little heat help, use a blow dryer with diffuser attachment to help hair dry in messy curls.

Now onto the twists! How to get the look:

Once hair has dried, spritz a little of Suave Professionals Natural Infusion Macadamia Moisturizing Light Oil Spray to add extra moisture and smooth out any fly away pieces to make sure your twists are able to stay in place.

Grab a section of hair that is approximately 2” thick on each side of your part and twist hair away from your head – secure each section near the back of your head using two bobby-pins in an X-shape.

Finish with a light spray of Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Extra Hold Hair Spray to lock any stray hairs into place and help twists keep their shape.
