It’s official, 2014 is already 1/12 of the way over. Looking back on yet another month that flew by, I can sum up January in one word: freezing. The sub-zero temps and never-ending snow put a damper on my love for Chicago while also making me feel like a total badass for managing to survive in this arctic climate. But despite the chilly weather, January managed to have some highlights, including:

Starting 2014 off with a peppermint ice cream sundae & a glass of red wine

Making the most of the “don’t leave the house weather” with extreme productivity

Spending quiet time snuggled up with Callie on the couch

Perfecting the homemade latte with my new Nespresso machine

Progress on my “send birthday cards” goal with some cute cards from Target

Visiting the Chicago Cultural Center for the first time with Molly for a street art exhibit

Indulging in my first pedicure post-Vespa crash

Having a shot of my bed featured in West Elm’s January catalog (pinch me?!)

Finally bringing my vision to life with a black wall in my bedroom

Braving Chicago’s west side for this brass beauty of a bar cart

Kicking things off in Nashville with a bridal party spa day & the best massage of my life
