new beauty faves // february.

Another month, another round up of some of my new favorite beauty products.  My apologies for the lack of vlog post this month – it was just one of those items that ended up perpetually shifted down to the bottom of my to do list and with only a few days left in February (how did that happen?) I figured I’d just do a regular old post instead.

Here’s what I’m loving beauty-wise this month:

  • Neutrogena Naturals Nourishing Night Cream:  Although I’m lucky enough to not be dealing with any fine lines yet, I figured it was time to add a night-specific cream to my beauty routine to help prevent aging and add a little boost to my skin.  After reading tons of reviews I tried the night cream from Neutrogena’s Naturals line and I’ve become a big fan (I actually look forward to washing my face and putting this on every night).  It smells amazing, slightly sweet like coconut and isn’t thick and greasy like other night creams I’ve tried – I love that it feels really light and absorbs well into my skin.
  • LUSH Sweet Lips Lip Scrub:  This lip scrub is one of those products I’m not sure how I lived without.  The scent, consistency and even flavor make it really fun  to use and the results are amazing – you’re instantly left with soft, smooth lips that feel less dry.  I’d consider LUSH’s lip scrub products an essential for both winter and summer when the elements can get the best of your skin.
  • NARS “Red Lizard”:  I’m not sure how many red lipsticks is an excessive amount for one person to own but I love this one!  My sister sent this shade my way for my birthday last week and it’s a really great cool-toned red that is matte but not drying.  NARS first won me over with “Heat Wave” and “Red Lizard” is now giving Revlon’s “Really Red” a run for its money as my favorite classic red lip color.  I’ve also found that NARS lipstick seems to last much longer than many other brands I’ve tried with rich color remaining hours later (and without drying my lips out).
  • Ouidad 12 Minute Deep Treatment Intensive Repair:  Curly haired girls, rejoice! Ouidad sent me their Intensive Repair Treatment to review and I was really impressed with the condition of my hair afterward – my curls are very sensitive to moisture and tend to frizz and “poof” easily.  This treatment left my hair softer and just more tame overall.  I’d say this is well worth the price (although I was shocked a bit when I first saw it) considering you’ll get several uses out of the bottle and only need to do the treatment every few weeks or so.
  • Olay Sensitive Skin Moisturizing Lotion:  Thank you to all of my Twitter friends for solving my lotion woes and recommending this one – the combination of winter dryness and breakouts has left my face a mess and I love how well this lotion moisturizes without leaving my skin feeling oily or greasy.  It absorbs really well (no need to fear cakey makeup with this one) and leaves my skin super soft and smooth.  I’m also not complaining about the fact that it costs less than $10 – I had been committed to Clinique’s lotion for years and it’s nice to not be spending $25 on moisturizer anymore.
