sine qua non.

{ Have you ever seen a salon with such great design?! }

Saturday I paid a (desperately needed) visit to Sine Qua Non‘s West Town location after being invited to check it out and receive complementary service.  The offer could not have come at a more perfect time as I have been facing the stresses of finding a new stylist in Chicago and neglecting my poor hair until my trips back to New Jersey where I could have my dear friend Amanda take care of me.

The entire process of scheduling with Sine Qua Non could not have been easier with amazing customer service every step of the way – I even had to make a last minute reschedule and the team was not only able to set me up with a new appointment for just the next week, but also added me to their wait list for cancellations.  Lucky for me, the stars aligned and I was able to head over on a Saturday for my little hair date with Josie, the stylist they had matched me up with.

Josie was a complete sweetheart and managed to find the perfect balance between being friendly and driving me crazy by talking my ear off the entire time.  I was fairly clueless what exactly I wanted to do with my hair and she was great with offering recommendations on color and giving me a cut that kept my length (I’m growing it long) while lightening things up with some additional layers to help my curl better and reflect my switch over from a drastic side part to a middle part.

And the end result?  Exactly what I was looking for – a subtle change that really warmed up my hair color and gave my hair a much better feel to help my natural curls.  Josie also walked me through each Bumble & Bumble product used while styling my hair and sent me home with some samples and a little product report card explaining exactly how each product was used for when I purchase in the future.

Here’s a little before, during and after for ya:

Horray for a new salon in my new city!  I can’t wait to check out some of Sine Qua Non’s other locations (Andersonville, Lakeview & Lincoln Park) – the design of each is so different and I love how each really reflects the vibe of the neighborhood.  They’ve really kept every detail in mind and impressed me across the board.  Chicago ladies, you MUST check them out – tell ’em I sent ya!

* I received complementary service from Sine Qua Non salon but my review is completely honest & all opinions are my own
