august highlights.

Wooooah. Summer is pretty much over. I’m still really confused about that because it never really felt like summer happened at all. Maybe it was the weather. Maybe it was my lack of participation in your typical summertime Chicago activities. Maybe it’s the whole time moves by so damn quickly thing. Probably a combination of all of those factors but August was a pretty crazy month and unfortunately I suspect things won’t really slow down again until the new year (September and October are going to be insane months at work + then the holiday season will be upon us!)

August-Highlights

Amidst the travel and moving and general feeling of being overwhelmed, some highlights from the month:

Vacationing on the Outer Banks with my family
Indulging in a few too many ice cream cones and beers
Discovering the amazingness of Bojangles (seriously life changing)
Being reunited with my Callie girl after more than a week away from her
My sweet tooth was in heaven sampling GODIVA’s latest treats

Taking a little stroll through Lincoln Park and admiring the gorgeous homes
Having a little extra spring in my step thanks to some new shoes

Finally giving SoulCycle a try (verdict: Flywheel > SoulCycle)
Packing up my loft and saying goodbye to my beloved black bedroom wall
Embracing the little white dress, regardless of my lack of tan
