Stepping Up My Nighttime Routine with The Best Cleansing Cloths.

I’ve begun embracing the power of routine lately – it can be a huge time saver and also help keep things in order and create consistency when life gets a little crazy. One of my biggest secrets has been establishing a nighttime routine and sticking to it to set aside time for a little self-care and set myself up for a good night’s rest.
A peek into my nightly rituals:
Take The Day Off: One of the first things I do every day when I get home from work or an event is pull my hair up and take my makeup off. It really helps me unwind and slip out of whatever mood I’m in and after a full day of wearing makeup, nothing feels better than letting my skin breathe. OLAY Daily Facials Daily Clean 4-in-1 Water Activated Cleansing Cloths have been a game changer for me because of how well they clean (2X better than basic cleansing!) without stripping or drying out my skin. They’re super easy to use – you just wet with water, rub it together to lather and then cleanse, even around your eyes, and they get every. single. bit. of makeup off after just a quick rinse. I’ve always avoided traditional wet cleansing cloths in the past because of how quickly they dry out and how many it can take to get all of your makeup off but these are totally different and also amazing for travel or stashing in your gym bag since you don’t have to worry about leaks.
The texture also gently exfoliates so you’re left with soft and smooth skin to improve your skin’s texture, which is perfect for the “no makeup makeup” look that everyone loves in the summer! My skin can definitely be unpredictable but using these consistently at night have really helped so I’m able to simplify my makeup routine and skip the heavy foundation for the no makeup look.
Set The Mood: After taking my makeup off and changing into comfy clothes, I’m all about setting the mood in my apartment to help wind down. From laid back indie music on Spotify to lighting a lavender candle to get ready for bed or dimming the lights, creating an environment where you’re able to chill out really goes a long way.
Unplug & Unwind: Anyone else guilty of scrolling through your phone aimlessly before bed? I’m typically the worst (it’s my prime Tinder time ;)) but I’ve been making a big effort to step away from screens for the last 30 minutes or so before heading to bed. It’s been helpful to help me wind down and fall asleep easier, plus it’s refreshing to give your eyes a break from computers and phones. I also recently started diffusing a calming blend of essential oils in my bedroom before I get in bed and I swear I’ve never slept better or felt more well rested in the AM.
Prep For The Day Ahead: I’m one of those people whose mind tends to spin as soon as I try and close my eyes. There’s always something to think about – from recapping the day that I just had to thinking through what’s on deck for tomorrow – and it always makes falling asleep a challenge. To help clear my head before hitting the sheets I’ve been spending 10 minutes reviewing my calendar for the next day + making a list of key priorities of things that need to get done, which not only helps keep me organized but helps me relax knowing I’m prepared for what the next day holds.
I’ve been making an effort to stick with this routine each night, even when traveling and it’s really helped me feel like I have it together, even when I’m stressed out and feeling overwhelmed. The time is really worth it as it’s been helping me sleep better and keeps my skin glowing without a ton of effort thanks to the 4-in-1 power of OLAY’s Water Activated Cleansing Cloths.
Do you have a nighttime routine? What are some of the things you do each night before bed?
