sunday ride.
We went on a little bike date yesterday thanks to How About We and it was the perfect end to the weekend. Things started off at Heritage Bicycles General Store, which is one of my all-time favorite spots in the city – if you haven’t been yet, go immediately. It’s half coffee shop, half bike shop, with amazing decor (B told me that he wants to decorate his apartment just like it), killer coffee and just an overall great vibe. After having one of their pumpkin lattes, which puts Starbucks’ PSL to shame, we grabbed our picnic lunch and bikes and headed out. I was a bit worried about biking in the city since I don’t have the best luck on two-wheels but with Blaine leading the way it was smooth sailing after a few minutes of riding.
Chicago graced us with perfect fall weather after last week’s cold snap and we made our way to the lakefront to take full advantage, stopping for a little picnic lunch and for me to take the silly little video above. Riding along the lake is one of my new favorite memories in this city – even after two years I can’t get over how beautiful it is here and that skyline still gives me butterflies. After a few hours of riding we were both pretty exhausted and dropped the bikes back off at Heritage with a quick stop at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams before heading home (I’m now convinced that I cannot live without an ice cream maker any longer) – it was pretty much the most perfect Sunday of them all.
This was our first time using How About We and I am already so excited to pick another date for us. They make it so easy to try something new and go beyond dinner and a movie with couple’s experiences that showcase the best of Chicago.
We were provided a complementary date thanks to the team at How About We – all opinions are honest and 100% my own. We truly had a great time and can’t wait to book a date night through them again.
