A Weekend in Lake Tahoe.
This post is long overdue but let’s head back to the west coast today, okay? Right before the chaos of moving kicked in I headed up to Lake Tahoe for Memorial Day weekend to check out Basecamp’s new ‘Camp BC’ package – it’s basically a summer camp for grown ups, with a ton of amazing activities you can book along with your stay. I stayed at Basecamp’s South Lake Tahoe location a few years ago but LOVED staying at their Tahoe City location for the weekend, which was a smaller hotel just across the street from the lake with tons of amazing restaurants and bars within walking distance, aka basically ideal.
Aimee and I made the drive from SF to Tahoe on a Friday afternoon and had so much fun on our little road trip – it was right before the chaos of moving kicked in and my last hurrah with my car before I sold it, so it was great to get away for a long weekend and spend time with one of my favorite people. Once we arrived at Basecamp and checked into our room we were given a full schedule for the weekend of events and activities that we could participate in throughout the weekend, from beer tasting to meditation and yoga, and we had the best time picking our favorites and planning out a schedule that gave us plenty to do but with time to relax and unwind as well.
The best part of the weekend was a sunset sail around Lake Tahoe with Tahoe Sailing Charters – it was such a fun crew and was incredible to see the beautiful lake from on the water (and drink a few beers while we were at it). Other highlights include a beer tasting with Outpost Brewing and an amazing dinner with Gather and a menu full of fresh, local ingredients, and getting our DIY on with shibori bandanas and making friendship bracelets.
Thank you to Basecamp for a really special part of my SF farewell tour and for Ryland West for the beautiful photos from our weekend!
