Bell Sleeves & Suede.
As you’ve probably noticed, bell sleeves are having a major moment right now. The silhouette has broken free of its hippie days of the 70’s and made its way into the mainstream, and I’m loving it. This lace top from H&M was my first toe dip into the bell sleeve world several months ago – it was one of those trendy impulse buys that you just go for because the price is right yet nearly a year later, it’s still on heavy rotation.
The detailing of a bell sleeve adds just enough interest to even basics like a simple black top and can really make a statement without a lot of effort otherwise. Embracing the bohemian vibes, I’ve been pairing black bell sleeved tops with this suede mini skirt from Madewell (how cute are the buttons down the front?) – it’s easy without being fussy and works for both a day in the office or a night out on the town.
Sticking with the simple vibes of this outfit I grabbed two of my new favorite jewelry pieces from Sweet Hyena – they’re a minimalist, handmade jewelry studio out of Queens, New York and I cannot stop wearing this necklace and cuff. Somewhere over the past few years I’ve found myself straying away from loud statement jewelry for everyday wear and Sweet Hyena just gets it right (these two pieces were among the only jewelry I brought with me for my holiday travels!).
Have you added any bell sleeved pieces to your closet lately? Anyone else feeling the 70’s revival happening right now?
