Skirts and Sweaters.
The not quite summer, not quite fall weather can always be a bit tricky to dress for. Your heart wants chunky sweaters and layers but the weather is still too warm to pull ’em off without ending up a sweaty mess. The struggle has been real in San Francisco where foggy, chilly mornings have ended up warm and sunny afternoons so I’ve been forced to get a little creative with my wardrobe, finding pieces that balance both seasons.

Lately a favorite combination has been going bare legged in a skirt or dress, but pairing it with a sweater. Summer on the bottom, fall on top ;) I’ve been having some fun with it and experimenting with mixing different patterns and textures, like this silk Madewell skirt and grey marled sweater.
And can we a moment to chat about these flats? I picked them up recently at J. Crew during a minor shoe emergency during our trip back to Chicago (you may have spotted them in our engagement photos!) and they are seriously the best pair of shoes I’ve ever seen at J. Crew. They look a lot more expensive than they are and look good with everything!
Have you started switching your closet over to fall yet? What are some of your favorite ways to dress for the weird in-between weather in-between seasons?
