Shift dresses have been my jam lately as I’ve been gravitating toward the looser fit silhouette instead of my usual empire waist favorite. This Ann Taylor bird-print dress was one of those pieces I spotted in-store and almost just walked right past – the pattern and color were a bit outside my comfort zone but I threw it on my pile right before heading to the fitting room and was pleasantly surprised after trying it on.

I’ve been kicking off fall by swapping out my summer sandals for over the knee boots with dresses. This Steve Madden pair is the best – they’re super easy to put on and look great with jeans, skirts and dresses – I love how they show just a little bit of leg when paired with a dress, which comes in handy on chilly mornings!
