Bringing Back the Denim Skirt.

We can consider today’s outfit post a #TBT edition considering it’s been probably 10 years since I had a denim skirt in my closet and while I’ve long retired the teeny tiny denim mini skirts I once wore, I’ve welcome back the denim skirt with open arms with a more grown up version of my once favorite trend.

Denim skirts have been making a serious comeback this season with a shift from mini to pencil length – I spotted this white option at J. Crew recently and loved the buttons down the front to add some interesting detail to a very simple, classic piece. Paired with a silk cami with a scalloped neckline, the denim skirt easily leaves its high school days  behind and is a perfect option for date night or a day at the office when paired with a blazer or cardigan.

On the accessories front I snagged yet another pair of M. Gemi’s (it’s become a bit of an addiction!) and am obsessed with how verstatile and comfortable these brown heeled sandals are. They’ve single-handedly been able to get me back on the heels train after switching over to flats for the past year and I love how they look great dressed up or down. If you’ve been curious about M. Gemi, I seriously cannot say enough wonderful things about the brand – from the packaging to the styles and quality, everything is spot on and I have been so incredibly impressed. You can check out some of my favorite shoes and get $40 off a pair for your own here.

I also recently signed up for DITTO after hearing my friend Nichole rave about it – it’s essentially a sunglasses rental service where you can rent unlimited designer sunglasses for $24 a month. You’re able to choose a pair, have ’em shipped to you within a few days and easily return them when you’re ready to try something new and swap ’em out for a new pair. Brilliant! This pair from Elizabeth & James was a fun addition, I’m always a sucker for a pair of tortoise shell shades and these had a serious cool factor to them. If you’d like to give DITTO a whirl for yourself, you can use code PRETTYANDFUN to get 1 month free!
