10 Ideas for Date Night.

I’m a firm believer that you should never stop dating, and that isn’t just a bit of advice for my single friends. Even after you’ve updated your relationship status, or even walked down the aisle, it’s important to keep things fresh and exciting and that means you’ve still gotta date. Each other that is (don’t go signing up for Tinder!) – dating is one of the simplest ways to keep the spark alive and break free of the routine that can come with a committed relationship.

10 Ideas for Date Night.

In the spirit of love and Valentine’s Day this weekend, 10 new ideas for date night to get you off the couch and out of the house with your hunny:

1. Try Something New:  There’s something really exciting about having an entirely new experience together! Pick something neither of you have ever done before, whether it be eating Ethiopian food, going to a jazz concert or indoor rock climbing, and make a date out of it!

2. Movie Night at Home: Date night doesn’t always have to be about going out! Make it a special night at home by watching each other’s favorite movies with takeout while snuggled up on the couch – be sure to stock up on popcorn and your favorite theater candies for the full experience.

3. Sweat It Out: A workout and a date is the ultimate two-for-one! Working out together is a great way to hold yourselves accountable while also prioritizing your health & wellness within your relationship. Take turns picking the activity for your workout date to work a variety of muscles while also adding some variety to your date nights.

4. Take a Hike: No, literally! Spend some time on the weekend hitting the trails together to soak in the scenery while catching up on how your weeks went without the distractions of cell phones or to do lists. Bonus points for packing a picnic to enjoy at the top.

5. Dress It Up: Getting dressed up is the easiest way to make a date night feel special – whether you have a reservation at a five star restaurant or are looking to put a fresh spin on dinner at your favorite neighborhood spot, surprise each other by getting dolled up. It’ll be impossible not to check each other out!

6. Get Competitive: Everyone loves a little friendly competition! Hit the arcade, the batting cages or the mini golf course and show off your competitive sides by placing bets with household chores or special treats (massage, anyone?!)

7. Create Something Together: Show off your creative sides by dedicating a date night to making something together. Have a soft spot for vintage? Take a trip to the flea market to find a new piece to give a fresh life to with the help of a little elbow grease. Looking to flex your creative muscles? Take a painting or pottery class!

8. Staycation: Who says you have to leave town to unwind? Book a hotel room in your own city and soak in the relaxing vibes with a little staycation. Consider ordering room service a must!

9. Museum Hop: Lean something new while also discovering new sides of each other by spending an afternoon at a museum. Savor the quiet time and grab coffee afterward to catch up on your favorite pieces and the cool stuff you saw!

10. Roadtrip: Whether it be a full cross country trip or an hour drive to favorite part of your trip, make the playlist, pack the car and head out for a roadtrip! Plan out your destination but leave the rest flexible so you can take your time and make it truly about the journey.
