I’ll admit, I’m a sucker for scallops. It’s funny how one detail, like a scalloped hemline, can really make such a huge difference in a piece! When I spotted this otherwise simple black skirt on ASOS I snatched it up immediately to throw into the mix – I love how it’s simple enough to be really versatile yet way more interesting than your basic black skirt and paired with a blouse and a tote, it works really well for work.

And let’s take a moment to talk about this blouse, shall we? I’ve been on the fence about tie neck shirts because they walk a very fine line between being adorable and looking like you’re on the set of Mad Men (and not in a good way!). I really liked the pattern of this option from Wayf because the print helps balance out the boldness of the tie neck and with the sleeves rolled it keeps the blouse from looking too matronly.
