from workout to weekend.

Every weekend typically starts the same for me – a Saturday morning Flywheel class followed by a trip to DoRite donuts with Blaine and Callie (counterproductive yet delicious). I’m all about releasing the stress of the work-week and there’s nothing better for that than Flywheel – the loud music and dark room plus the sheer intensity of the workout makes you forget everything else for 45 minutes and afterwards, you not only feel amazing but you also are totally ready to tackle the weekend.

I’ve found my favorite thing to wear for Flywheel is cropped tights + a tank – pieces sweat-wicking material are an absolute must! They keeps you cool and comfortable (my first time I tried Flywheel I was wearing shorts… biggest. mistake. ever.) and an all-black ensemble plus pieces with built-in ventilation are always a good idea to conceal the inevitable sweat stains after a good ol’ cardio ass kicking.

PUMA has also added a bit of flare to their training attire with a fun criss-cross back detail on the tank, plus a built-in sports bra to keep things simple while still providing support. You’ll usually find me running to and from the Gold Coast studio in light-weight sneakers that are both comfortable (these have a barefoot feel!) yet functional so you can easily make the transition from post-workout sweat to errands.

But after class? I’m in full on comfort-mode… which I tend to stay in for the remainder of the weekend. Now that the temperatures have gotten cooler in Chicago, there’s nothing more cozy than a hoodie and the collar shape and retro-feel of this PUMA hoodie keeps things comfy yet stylish enough for your morning coffee run. It’s a total weekend layering essential.

And by now you’re probably well aware of my obsession with pants that feel like pajamas but don’t look like pajamas. It’s basically the key criteria for what I decide to wear on the weekend and I have been wearing these slouchy running pants non-stop since the arrived – the cut makes them a perfect sporty chic piece and they’re perfectly paired with a pair of stylish sneakers. My kind of look!
