the travel bug.
March has been a month full of travel. Four trips. Eight flights. Equal time spent in hotels as home in my own apartment. There have been two trips to New York City and weekends spent in Santa Monica and DC and while it’s been great, it’s all been fairly exhausting since none of the trips were at all for leisure.
I started 2014 with the goal of adventure – new experiences, new places, new people. I’ve been craving change and doing… putting an end to my “one day” list and instead making those things happen now. For me, adventure is something that’s a bit outside of my comfort zone. I’m such a planner by nature that it’s all to easy for me to get caught up in the reality and obligations of everyday life and make excuses about why things just aren’t right – whether it be time, being too busy or not wanting to spend money. Adventure just hasn’t been a priority for me.
This recent travel has sparked an even deeper craving for more adventure. I want that time to explore. I want to be able to take it all in and be free of a schedule and to do list. I even want to relax, which is something I’m not very good at.
So I’m thinking it’s time to get a trip booked. A trip that’s not work or wedding or blog related. A visit to a new place. An actual vacation. A few destinations I have my eye on in the upcoming months:
// Yosemite
// Big Sur
// Charleston
// Puerto Rico
Do you have any upcoming trips planned? What is the favorite place you’ve visited so far? Who has a favorite destination for a long weekend trip?
