Apartment Decorating // The Living Room.
Spoiler alert… Our living room is shaping up to be my very favorite room of ’em all in our new apartment. I feel a little guilty saying that – it’s like admitting that you have a favorite child – but it’s definitely the space with the most progress and I’m in love, I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it.
We’ve still got quite a ways to go with styling and adding the finishing details but we’ve got a solid foundation in place and I can’t wait to officially get the room done! A look at how the room is shaping up:
Bryght Alcott Sofa c/o // CB2 Coffee Table // Vintage Rug
// Vintage Credenza // CB2 Shelves // West Elm Chair // Moroccan Pouf //
CB2 Lamp // Longhorn Faux Skull // Vintage Brass Trunk // CB2 Stool
The space is definitely the coolest of the bunch with an awesome mix of vintage pieces scored from eBay and Craigslist (more on my vintage hunting process to come soon!) and new finds. One of the most important pieces of ’em all? Our leather sofa from Bryght. When we first moved to San Francisco last year I was obsessed with finding a leather sofa but settled for a mid-century inspired tufted option after being very underwhelmed by all of the leather options on the market. The sofa we ended up getting from a certain store called… ahem, Schmest Schmelm… was pretty, but not at all comfortable and drove us crazy with its sliding cushions and buttons that were prone to falling off, so this time around I was set on finding the perfect leather sofa I had always dreamed of.
Given the open floor plan thing we have going on we decided to float the sofa to divide up the living room area from the office/dining area which meant we needed a true sofa superstar that could hold its own in the center of the room. After spotting Bryght’s Alcott sofa it was love at first sight – its mid-century vibes worked well with our other pieces in the space while the sofa’s rounded lines made it feel really inviting. We excitedly ordered and then waited for its delivery with intense anticipation (I do not recommend selling your sofa a few weeks before you move… not having a sofa sucks!) and I’ve gotta say… it’s far, far exceeded my expectations in every single way. Comfortable? Yes. Stylish? Yes. And the quality? Incredible.
