When it comes to getting dressed up, I’m a total sucker for a little black dress. There’s plenty of color in the rest of my wardrobe but when it’s time to get fancy, I find myself gravitating toward black every. single. time. When I spotted this lace BB Dakota frock I instantly had to have it – the sleeves are perfect for winter events and the low back is subtly sexy. It’s one of those dresses that just makes you feel good and I believe that when you feel great in what you’re wearing, it really shows. Since we’ll be spending New Year’s Eve in Chicago this year I knew I needed to add an extra layer and wanted to find something that was equally as glam as the dress. My coat wardrobe definitely tends to skew more functional than fashionable but I wanted to step a bit outside of my comfort zone and this Sanctuary faux fur jacket is one of the best pieces I’ve ever found in Zappos’ The Style Room. I mean, is there anything more glam than fur?! To finish the look I grabbed what just might be my new favorite pair of shoes in my closet, these strappy tassel pumps from Schutz. They’re the kind of shoes that basically demand a night out on the dance floor and I have a feeling that I’ll be happily obliging back in Chicago as we ring in 2016 with our best friends.
