What to Wear for Thanksgiving.
It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week (like what, didn’t we JUST ring in the new year?!) but with turkey time just around the corner, it’s time to start planning! I’ll actually be spending Thanksgiving this year in Brussels with my sister – we’re headed to Europe on Friday for the week and I’m so excited to take her on her first international trip and spend some time exploring in two new countries.
As I’m working on my packing list and prepping outfits for our trip, I wanted to share an easy Thanksgiving outfit idea that’s festive enough to help kick off your holiday spirit, but unfussy so you can still roll up your sleeves and help mom in the kitchen.
When planning my packing for any trip, I always try to pick versatile pieces that can be worn a bunch of different ways to save space in my suitcase; I’m one of those people who refuses to ever check my luggage, so it’s important that each item work hard for me. One of my favorite multi-taskers? A pair of black denim that can easily be dressed up or down. Madewell has my favorite denim ever and I love how this pair of black skinny jeans works just as well with a fancier look as it does with a t-shirt.
I’ve also been stocking up on silk tanks lately; they work really well year round and are an easy way to elevate an otherwise simple look. Nordstrom has the best I’ve found yet (and at only $30) and this wine color feels like fall and on hue for a Thanksgiving feast.
And last but not least… this leopard coat. It may be the Jersey girl in me but I fully consider leopard to be a neutral and given the fact that I have to wear coats all year round living in San Francisco, I’ve been on the hunt for a statement piece to add to the mix and this faux fur leopard jacket does just the trick.
What will you be wearing for Thanksgiving this year? Anyone else have some non-traditional plans?
