A Month of Juice Beauty.
One of the major perks of blogging also tends to be my skin’s nemesis: constantly testing out new products within my skincare routine. To give my skin a bit of a break I wanted to conduct a little experiment and use one skincare line exclusively for a month – how would my skin react to a little consistency in its life? Could one brand really cover all of my skincare needs and woes?
I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical at first. My skincare needs and preferences tend to be very diverse and the idea of only using one brand for every single product, instead of my typical mixing and matching favorite products from a variety of brands had me bracing for less than stellar results. I’ll also admit that there are very few brands I’d trust enough for an experiment like this but Juice Beauty is definitely at the top of that list.
I was first introduced to Juice Beauty a few years ago when I received a box of skincare items from Whole Foods that included the brand’s famous Green Apple Peel (more on that in a bit!) – I loved the idea of natural skincare with organic ingredients and products that actually worked. Since then I’ve tried numerous Juice Beauty products and even met their CEO, Karen Behnke at the brand’s Bay Area HQ – this brand is the real deal!
I decided to dedicate a month to Juice Beauty’s Green Apple Brightening Skincare line based on how much I already loved the peel and the products’ promise of visibly correcting skin-tone, reducing dark spots and discoloration and the exfoliating power of the malic acid within apples. Sounds great right? It was! And 30 days later, I wanted to give you the full scoop:
- Green Apple Peel Sensitive: Hello, old friend! The Green Apple Peel has been a regular part of my skincare routine for a long time now – I use the peel weekly to exfoliate and even out my skin-tone. I will say that this is some serious stuff; the Sensitive version of the peel is still extremely effective and expect some redness after using (it will completely go away though so don’t stress it)
- Green Apple Peel Nightly Brightening Pads: Let’s face it, not everyone has time to do a mask or peel at night before bed every night. These pads are the next best thing – I loved how easy it was to just do a quick swipe over my face after cleansing (think of them as the toner step in your skincare routine) and they left my skin feeling smooth and soft.
- Green Apple Age Defy Serum: I only recently became interested in anti-aging products, which I suppose is the result of entering your late 20’s and suddenly becoming ultra-aware of fine lines and the fact that the next decade of your life is very quickly approaching. I really like that this product not only fights wrinkles but also helps repair sun damage (anyone else used to regularly hit the tanning beds? What a horrible idea!) and that it sinks into skin really well without any oily or greasy residue so you can use for both day and night.
- Green Apple Brightening Gel Cleanser: When starting this little self-imposed challenge, I was most concerned about changing cleansers as I’ve become obsessed with how clean my skin gets from double cleansing and how important it’s been to have the right cleanser for keeping my skin clear. I was really blown away with this cleanser (and still continue to use it all the time!) because it manages to be both gentle yet really deeply cleanses. It smells amazing, a little bit goes a long way and it left my skin brighter and just overall happier.
- Green Apple Age Defy Moisturizer: My skin is on the oily side, especially within my t-zone, so I was first a bit worried about what my results would be like with this moisturizer because of how thick and creme-like its texture is. It turns out, it’s actually quite the opposite – the moisturizer feels super lightweight when applied and sinks in deep so it works really well under makeup.
- Green Apple Brightening Eye Cream: I look for three main things with eye creams (and are often really disappointed by others I try!): doesn’t irritate my eyes, packs intense moisture, and can be used to fight fine lines. I really liked how this eye cream was a super multi-tasker as it fought dark circles, decreased puffiness and also left my under eye area feeling really moisturized. It also freaks me out to think about putting chemicals that close to my eyes so I extra appreciated Juice Beauty‘s natural ingredients in this product!
And there you have it! After dedicating a month to one skincare line I definitely realized the importance of consistency within my skincare routine (whoops) and continued to be blown away by Juice Beauty and am more excited than ever for their makeup line launch with Gwyneth Paltorw coming soon. My skin ended up being brighter and more predictable than ever and I have definitely become a loyal follower of the gel cleanser + moisturizer as permanent staples in my daily routine.
Have you tried Juice Beauty yet? Anyone else basically counting down until the makeup launch?!
